Carbon Steel F65 Flanges

Carbon Steel F65 Flanges are high-strength carbon steel components used in demanding applications requiring corrosion resistance, high pressure, and increased temperatures. These flanges comply with the ASTM A694 specification, which specifies carbon and alloy steel forgings for pipe components such as flanges, fittings, valves, and other pressure-containing elements. F65 is the specific grade of carbon steel utilized, which is distinguished by its good mechanical qualities, such as high tensile strength, yield strength, and hardness. There are several types of carbon steel F65 flanges, two of which are explained, and the rest of the others are mentioned in the table below. Slip-On Flanges: Slip-on flanges have a slightly larger diameter than the pipe they are intended to connect to. They are slid over the pipe and welded on both the inside and exterior to give adequate strength and prevent leaking. Lap Joint Flanges: Lap joint flanges have two parts: a stub end and a backing flange. The stub end is welded to the pipe, while the backing flange has a flat face and a raised portion (lap) that overlaps with the stub end. Lap joint flanges allow for easy alignment of bolt holes and provide flexibility in piping systems.

Carbon Steel: F65 flanges are typically made from high-strength carbon steel, providing excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Alloy Steel: Some flanges may be fabricated from alloy steel to enhance specific properties such as hardness, toughness, and resistance to corrosion and high temperatures.
