Aluminium 7075 6.0 Mm Sheets & Plates

Aluminium 7075 is significantly stronger than 6061, offering a higher tensile strength of around 570 MPa compared to 6061’s 310 MPa, making it ideal for aerospace, defense, and other high stress applications. While 6061 has better natural corrosion resistance and is easier to machine and weld, 7075 requires protective coatings like anodizing for enhanced durability. 7075 sheets are generally more expensive due to their superior mechanical properties, and they are preferred when strength is critical, whereas 6061 is suitable for general structural and fabrication purposes.

For 6.0 mm Aluminium 7075 sheets, typical thickness tolerances range from ±0.10 mm to ±0.15 mm, while length and width tolerances are usually around ±1–3 mm depending on the manufacturer and sheet size. Flatness tolerance is often about 1–2 mm per meter. For critical engineering applications requiring high precision, custom tolerances can usually be arranged with the supplier. Confirming these tolerances before purchase ensures the sheets meet specific design requirements.

To prevent damage, Aluminium 7075 sheets should be stored flat in a dry, moisture free environment to avoid corrosion and warping. Protective layers such as paper, plastic, or anti corrosion films can be placed between sheets to prevent scratches, and heavy loads should be avoided to prevent bending or denting. It is also important to store sheets away from direct sunlight or extreme heat, as excessive temperatures can affect their mechanical properties and long term performance.
