This coating develops a high metallurgical bond which gives it very high resistance to corrosion, rust, and environmental damage. They are extensively applied in construction, water supply systems, fencing and scaffolding, among other applications in industry, owing to their durability and extended service life. The layer of zinc not only provides a barrier to the surface but also provides sacrificial protection so that at least the underlying steel is left intact despite any scratches on the surface.<br style="background-color: transparent; box-shadow: none;"><br style="background-color: transparent; box-shadow: none;">Grades of <b>carbon steel, ASTM A53 Grades A and B, ASTM A106, and IS 1239/IS 3589</b> are used to manufacture hot-dip galvanised pipes, in terms of grades. The grades guarantee high mechanical strength, weldability and performance at different pressure and temperature conditions. The galvanisation process is in conformance with such standards as <u>ASTM A123 or ISO 1461</u> and provides a uniform layer of coating and quality.
