A threaded flange is a device that connects a device that you can secure to a pipe length without the need for welding. With tapered thread, the threaded flange can be tightened onto the pipe without any leakage. However, a seal weld is commonly used when it is appropriate.

Size of the System: Threaded connections are ideal for smaller systems with low pressure, while flanged connections are more suitable for larger systems. – Ease of Maintenance: Flanged connections are easier to disassemble and maintain, making them a better choice for systems that require frequent maintenance.

A weld neck flange, or high-hub flange, is a high stress-containing flange with a long and strong neck (Fig. 14.39). They are usually used in severe service applications including high-pressure and high-temperature conditions. The bore of the flanges adjusts the internal bore of the connected pipe.
