CSK screws are made from various materials such as stainless steel, carbon steel, brass and aluminum. Stainless steel, including 304 and 316 grades, is widely used for its corrosion resistance, especially in marine or outdoor environments. Carbon steel is commonly chosen for its strong tensile properties, making it suitable for load bearing tasks. For added durability or aesthetic appeal, surface treatments like zinc plating, black oxide, nickel coating or PTFE are often applied based on the end use environment.

CSK screws are measured by three key dimensions: length, diameter and thread pitch. Unlike other screw types, the length of a countersunk screw is measured from the top of the flat head to the tip since the head is designed to sit flush within the surface. The diameter refers to the major thread diameter (e.g., M6 or M8 in metric units), while the pitch measures the distance between threads. Both metric and imperial units are used, depending on regional standards and industry practices.

Countersunk screws provide a clean, flush finish that’s ideal for visible or functional surfaces where a protruding screw head is not acceptable. This design reduces snagging, enhances aesthetics and supports smooth surface transitions in woodworking, furniture, metalwork and architectural applications. Additionally, they help distribute load evenly across the fastening area, improving structural integrity and creating a tight, vibration resistant connection.
