Square Thin Nuts

Square thinner nuts are employed in machineries, brackets, electrical panels and any rig where space is limited vertically. They are highly suitable when used in close joints and in secondary lock nuts. Such nuts are common in tools frames and equipment where every mm counts. They provide a steady hold alongside maintaining the assembly at thin profiles. They are also perfect in repair and maintenance. They are also easy to handle manually because of their shape.

The principle distinction is of shape and thickness. Thin nut shaped squares are also flatter and have four sides as compared to six. This enables it to have greater access to flat surfaces and greater hold with simple tools. They are applied where you need room to save space or you need to back up another nut. The regular nuts are girthier and have increased loading capacity. Square thin nuts are specialised to work in tight places. They also tend to round off less when tightening is done due to their shape.

Structural connections joined using square thin nuts are not meant to support high loads. They work best on a light to medium duty fastening and are space limited. Although they are manufactured using hard materials, their weaker thickness level makes them less good as compared to full size nuts. They form the best fitting at adjustment points, covers, light brackets and also locking of other nuts. The heavier hex or square nuts must be utilized as structural loads carry more weight. The type of nut should always be in line with the load level of your application.
