Threaded Screwed Flanges

Threaded screwed flanges are primarily used for connecting pipes, valves, or fittings without the need for welding. They are ideal for low pressure, small diameter applications where quick assembly and disassembly are required. These flanges are widely used in industries such as oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical, power generation, and water treatment, as they allow easy maintenance and system modifications without cutting or welding the pipe.

Threaded screwed flanges are manufactured in a wide range of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel (304/304L, 316/316L), duplex steel, and alloy steel, ensuring compatibility with different media and environments. They are available in sizes typically ranging from ½” to 24” and pressure classes from 150# to 2500#, depending on the application. This variety makes them suitable for both general purpose piping as well as highly demanding industrial systems that require durability and corrosion resistance.

Threaded screwed flanges differ from slip on or weld neck flanges in their method of connection. While slip on and weld neck flanges require welding to secure the joint, threaded flanges use internal threads to connect to the pipe, eliminating the need for welding altogether. This makes them especially useful in areas where welding is hazardous, impractical, or not permitted. Additionally, threaded flanges allow for easier installation, dismantling, and reusability compared to welded connections, though they are generally used in lower pressure applications compared to weld neck flanges.
